Busy Busy Busy!
Wow, I had no idea my holiday was going to be so hectic, after the spine/rib incident, we had to take the 'connections' out to dinner (or lunch) as a way of saying thanks, and also Chinese New Year is only 4 days away we had so many relatives to visit! Mum and I are so exhausted we booked a room at a very historic but up to date hotel and we're staying there for 2 weeks (until the 'Chinese New Year' rush is over). The hotel we're staying at is really close to the city centre (15 minutes walk). We settled in pretty fast and treated ourselves even more with a shopping trip in DeJi Plaza; a rather high-end shopping mall famous for being famous (Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Versace, D&G, Gucci etc.), and as we later found out, extraordinarily overrated. But that didn't stop us from staying there for the whole day, as soon as I entered the revolving doors I knew I was in for something extremely cliche; everywhere you looked there were cliche, rich, 'euro-trashy' girls with their husbands. The stock in the designer stores is so much better than Melbourne, but so much more expensive! Mum and I had so much fun trying on clothes and shoes, my mum bought a Burberry trench coat (after trying on every single coat in the shop!!!), a pair of C.Banner boots (C.Banner's not actually in DeJi but I pretty much listing everything we bought that day), expensive granny pants (she decided it was time to "suck it in'), a pair of cropped pants from A-Line, 3 skirts from a boutique that cannot be translated into English and some scarves. I bought a pair of DKNY pants and that is all... Pretty weird for me to buy less than my mum. After DeJi we went to H&M and we were so disapointed, everything is over prices and average. We've yet to pay Zara a visit, I've lowered my expectations by a lot.

Hospital hopping is no fun
Tuesday 10:45pm- felt sharp and strong pains through my ribs
Tuesday 11:00pm- couldn't take it any more, woke up my mum, realised she took sleeping pills (thus not able to wake up), woke up my grandparents, got them to take me to the hospital ER.
Tues 11:20pm- got to see the doctor, got told nothing could be done, to go and see a speacialist and take some weird pain killers.
Wednesday 10:00am- went to the hospital, booked x-rays, called some people because "connections get everything done in China" (I have had some serious consideration about going into public relations, or just relations in general), tried to book an appointment with the speacialist, realised he's booked up untill Feb.
Wednesday 2:00pm- called more people, got an early x-ray booked for Thurs. morning and got a VIP appointment for Thurs. afternoon.
Thursday 8:00am- got the x-ray, saw about 9 girls with scoliosis.
Thurs. 10:30am to 1:00pm- had rose tea at a tea house, called more people, invited my cousins to have lunch, had lunch, cried because I was scared that I had to wear a back brace.
Thurs.1:30pm to 5:15pm- waited at the hospital realised I was no.55 and there are people who are 118, freaked out because some girls had back curves of 30 degrees.
Thurs 5:15pm- had 3 doctors look at my x-ray, nearly fainted because they said I had a curve of 45 degrees, then got told a curve of 20-40 is normal, fanned myself, because 5 degrees is minor, and it's actually the frigid tempreture that's making my ribs hurt.
Thurs 5:30pm- had a quick check up, realised I'm 160.6 cms tall (ONLY!???!) and 57kgs(someone hand me some diet pills and a gym membership), the doctor actually said that I should hit the gym, but good news I have the potential to grow 1.5 cms more.
Thurs. 6pm- finally haled a taxi home, good thing about china is that my mum makes me Taxi everywhere.
Thurs 6:08pm- went past all the designer stores and sighed
So yeah now it's all 'sort of solved', and no, I'm not going to Shanghai anymore because the doctor said I should rest up and wear warmer clothes (hello thermal underwear!). I'll keep you updated with my shopping at a later date, for now let's just say my mum kept the Burberry sales assistants busy...
Wish me well darlings.

Louboutin lust
There was only one way to get them on, granny socks!
I'm going to start saying 'o' instead of 'x'. Seriously it's not like I kiss cheeks that much anyway.

It's a whole lotta shopping
Anyway more about the shopping, this time I went to big department stores, they're massive!(for Melbournians it's like 3 Myers stacked on top of each other). I bought:
I'm in love these, they are comfortable (hidden platform (Y)) but chic. Everyone needs mary janes.

Fascinated by the webcam

Up, up and away.
03-01-08 about 3pm.
Well, I’m now officially out of Australia, we’re hovering over some ocean at the moment. Let me update you on the flight so far (well, I really don’t think you give a frock but I’m bored and the in-flight movie is French). Oh, and BTW I’m using my mum’s laptop, mine’s too heavy, hers is bright, apple green and her webcam actually works.
So, this morning, at 5:30am I promptly got out of bed, put on my ‘comfy chic’ outfit (well not really, my mum dressed me) which consisted of skinny jeans, a white tank, a white, boat neck top, a knitted, argyle, v-neck sweater, beret, old, flat boots (I never wear them so I can just throw them out in China) and I carried my beige trench coat. We left the house at about 6am, checked in, said goodbye to daddy (no, he didn’t come with us), and at security they frisked me! Me? Terrorist? WHAT? Well whatever I mean it’s a security precaution, but I was so shocked at the time I left my ‘liquids and metals’ (moisturisers necklaces, and some hair things)in the basket they scanned it with and I didn’t realised until we got to duty free and I went to ‘grab my necklace and play with it’ (I do this a lot when I’m shopping) and it wasn’t there, so I rushed back to security to get it back. *WOHHHH TURBULANCE!-* Oh I love duty free, but they didn’t have any of the perfumes I wanted, but they did have the December British Vogue (something I wanted!), and right now I would just like to emphasise how SHIT this month’s Australian Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar is! They are both pathetically thin and it turns out last month’s HB is also this month’s HB, so no ass-kissing letter to them from me!
Anyway, more about the flight, or there lack of until 10! The flight was scheduled for 8:40 and at 8:30 the departure time changed to 9:00 which was ok, and at 8:50, changed to 9:30, finally at 9:45 we started to board and at 10:23 we were off the ground. I hate flying, the whole stuck in a small, cramped space, up so high in the air just doesn’t appeal to me not to mention how horrible my ears feel when the pressure changes, but this time I was prepared, prepared with various medications and pressure regulating ear plugs, well ascending was pretty good but it’s usually descending that’s the worst. It’s all pretty good so far, I have a bit of a headache (but that’s expected).
Errrlackkkkkk don’t get me started on the food and service. The baggage compartment above our seat was taken up by somebody else, and we have to put our baggage above someone else’s seat and they had to put their baggage on another compartment also, this continued for about 6 rows, which is pretty funny. *wooo more turbulence* and we had breakfast at 11am (brunch?) I had ‘western’ and mum had ‘eastern’. The’ western’ meal pretty much consisted of a rubbery sausage, a weird runny omelette type thing, soggy potato pieces and half a roasted tomato, and the ‘eastern’ meal was noodles with mushroom sauce. And both had a small plate of fruit, a raspberry muffin (this turned me off muffins, it was sooo bad!) and a surprisingly nice piece of strawberry cake. Well I must bid adieu for now, I just looked outside and am temporarily blind because of how bright it is.
